Supported strategic grantmaking
and community engagement by community foundations, family foundations, and government agencies as they invested millions of dollars in diverse causes, initiatives, programs and organizations that are transforming communities across the country.
Supported the rebuilding
and reinvigoration of a foundation supporting the region’s only nonprofit independent community hospital; helped to raise more than $30 million over four years from patients, patient families, community members, foundations and corporations in support of hospital priorities.
Shaped the management practices
of hundreds of organizations through leadership of the Washington, DC area’s top award recognizing excellence in nonprofit management; had a positive impact on diverse nonprofits, promoting innovation and achievement in the sector as practices were identified, shared and implemented.
Stewarded the successful implementation
of the 2018 Celebration of Philanthropy hosted by the Greater Washington Community Foundation; supported staff and host committee members in raising more than $600,000 in sponsorships and donations for the event, which was attended by more than 700 patrons.
Managed major comprehensive assessment
initiatives that led to the transformation, strengthening, and strategic realignment of a large regional housing development corporation, a national emergency relief fund for federal employees, and the nonprofit publisher of a major university’s student newspaper.
Led a significant reinvention
of the national annual fund campaign for the AFP Foundation for Philanthropy, creating the successful “Be the Cause Campaign,” which raises more than $400,000 in financial support from nearly 4,000 AFP members across the country in support of scholarships, education and research.
